What value a 21″ vert dropout Scandal? Doing part-ex Brant? 😉
Does the new seat tube change the geom much over the original?

  • HereFoutTheRide 9:48 pm on October 23, 2011 | #

Excellent 6 1/2 weeks to go!!

  • Peter Mac 5:35 pm on October 24, 2011 | #

    Mate, you’ve done it again….Fabo.
What size fork will it take?
How’s the Ti version coming on?
    Best wishes
    Peter Mac

  • brant 9:05 pm on October 24, 2011 | #

Nothing to do with me really – this is Stevo’s work. Ti 29er – good idea 🙂

  • peter mac 12:35 pm on October 25, 2011 | #

    Whoops, sorry.
Confusion everywhere…on one, off one, shed on fire…still all fabo though.
take it easy and keep them lovelies coming…!!

Rack mounts are dumb, IMO. Can you pull them from production? If you want a rack, ride steel!

  • brant 9:46 pm on October 26, 2011 | #

That’s a production sample there. Rack mounts included at no extra cost. It’s a Stevo bike, not a Brant one – credit where it’s due, it’s got some nice touches and some kinda odd ones – but that’s all good.

  • D. 10:12 pm on October 26, 2011 | #

Rack mounts may be free to you guys, but they are a cost to those of us that prefer a clean bike.

Most of these are race bikes methinks. Or at least our lighter 29ers, ofter the SS racer.

I think if you did a small run as SS only, no stops, no rack mounts, etc, they would move for you. I’d buy 2. Do it as a prepay so you don’t get stuck. I’d prepay for 2. Consider it.

YYMV. Sounds silly to have SS only swapout bike, but it would be great to have an AL bike with a steel (or Ti.) track end.

  • Nick 10:33 am on November 3, 2011 | #

Rack mounts make this so much more versatile though, could possibly be my dream bikepacking machine…

  • Gordie 8:27 pm on November 3, 2011 | #

Rear swapouts – are they a different design from the production ones in use? The disc side is mounted conventionally, whereas the rest are inboard al la Inbred

  • Marcel 7:30 am on November 4, 2011 | #

Brant, would you recommend using the 29er race carbon fork on this puppy, or would the “old” OO carbon fork be a better choice?

  • Bob 2:35 pm on November 8, 2011 | #

Sweeet 🙂 Normal forks? or big chunky steerer tube?

  • brant 7:44 pm on November 8, 2011 | #

    Tapered on that.

  • Rosie 7:50 pm on November 8, 2011 | #

would the 29 er rock shocks forks your selling be right for this frame , and would 1″ and 1/8 tube fit the head tube. i feel a winter project coming on.

  • brant 7:51 pm on November 8, 2011 | #

    Yes, and yes.

  • Marcel 10:16 pm on November 9, 2011 | #

Brant, would you recommend using the 29er race carbon fork on this puppy, or would the “old” OO carbon fork be a better choice?

  • brant 11:13 pm on November 9, 2011 | #

    470mm is best.

  • Vytas 9:30 am on November 14, 2011 | #

Could you please tell what’s the weight of the frame? And what fork travel range is suggested? this one in picture looks like 120mm.

Sorry, but I also think rack mounts spoil this beautiful frame 🙁

  • Dominic 9:48 am on November 16, 2011 | #

Are these going on sale preorder this week ?

    just asking, like …

  • Tom 9:49 pm on November 16, 2011 | #

If 470mm is best, then what’s that 506mm reba doing there?

  • Tom 8:49 am on November 17, 2011 | #

Ofcourse there is also sag.. my bad

  • brant 9:16 am on November 17, 2011 | #

you’re quite right tom. The frames are designed around a 470mm ride height, and this is more on this model. I used an on-one slackset to kick the front end out more which lowers things off a bit too.
Would handle climbing better with a shorter fork for sure. And not sure about durability with 120mm fork, but it’s my bike, not one we recommend or sell 😉

    Weight?

  • Kieran 10:47 am on November 18, 2011 | #

Any update on the geom at all. What size recommended for a 5’11, 32″ inside leg…18/19.5″?

  • brant 10:49 am on November 18, 2011 | #

Geometry is *exactly the same* as previous ones.

  • Kieran 12:10 pm on November 18, 2011 | #

Thanks Brant, would a 19.5″ be ok? …know it’s a bit of a “how long is a piece of string” question! Is your one pictured an 18″?

Any planned changes to the graphics or will that be the same stencil outline as per previous Scandals?

  • Chris 10:13 pm on November 18, 2011 | #

Hi, is there a rider weight limit on the new scandal frame? I weigh 91kg and would ride it singlespeed if I bought one

  • DirtDawg 6:17 am on November 19, 2011 | #

    Will these have ISCG mounts?

  • Bazz 3:33 pm on November 19, 2011 | #

Any chance yopu could tell us what headset will be required to use a standard 1 1/8 steerer, and seat post size? Thanks.

  • D. 6:37 am on November 20, 2011 | #

2nd Bazz. Would be nice to see a pic with the old OO fork too. I think a lot of us will run this before going to a choice of tapered later.

Rack mount lovers? Can’t believe it for the life of me. So, explain the point to me.

  • Ian 2:05 am on November 21, 2011 | #

    Hi Brant,
Are the cable stops pre production or will they be on the shipped frames?

    Thanks

    Ian

  • Shaun 12:29 pm on November 21, 2011 | #

Hi, is the headset internal? if so what is the diameter of the lower cup?

    Thanks
    Shaun

  • Darren 4:53 pm on November 23, 2011 | #

Does anyone have a link to the geometry of the previous ones, I cant see it at On Ones site unless im being blind. Cheers.

  • Antti 10:34 am on November 24, 2011 | #

Seatpost size? Doesn’t look 27.2 like previous Scandal?

  • Vytas 12:23 pm on November 24, 2011 | #

    3.5 lbs frame = 1.5875733g + swapouts 150g + headset = actual frame weight?

  • brant 8:21 pm on November 24, 2011 | #

cable stops are production. headset in taper. 49.6mm lower, 44mm upper.

  • CL 1:54 pm on November 29, 2011 | #

    Brant,
for the headset, which headset is best used? can u give me the link to purhcase from On One? or ebay?

if i want to use Chris King or Cane Creek 111, which model is best fit this frame?

    thks

  • D. 10:57 pm on December 5, 2011 | #

Some good pictures on On-One Philippines FacePage. Including set built geared with the old O-O carbon-legged fork.

Saying 30.9 post over there too. How Niner! U.S. saying 31.8, how totally incorrect that must be. I really wish P-X and O-O would just get their shit together. Still no geometry table. Yes the angles may be the same as old, but the mm of the stays, etc. are surly not.

U.K. page saying Super Raw is brushed the anodized. If so, great. Finish looks awesome, but rack mounts suck so much. Take them off and I’ll order next round.

  • Tom 8:31 pm on December 12, 2011 | #

    Post is 31.8 (measured)

  • V 1:51 pm on December 16, 2011 | #

what widest tire possible? it looks like 2.4 ” Ardent here?

  • al 8:31 am on June 26, 2012 | #

is this with a 120mm fork?
