Just got word back from our frame factory in Taiwan, that SGS (who do testing) confirm that our steel Ragley Blue Pig has passed the CEN 14766 test.

The vertical pedal loading test is for 100,000 cycles (so that proves the chainstay bridge and dropouts are solid), and the horizontal fatigue test (50,000 cycles) shows the strength of the front of the bike.

It’s actually my first experience of this testing, as previously I’d done things by “send a fat lad down a hill for a few years” or “if it breaks make it a bit thicker”. I’ve heard many stories of steel frame manufacturers having issues with this test, so I’m really chuffed we’ve got it nailed so quickly.
