    Further forward, with a fitting incorporated at the front end of the stem somehow (maybe a plate and clamp effect when you tighten the bolts?) ….and height of the pivot pole halved, or gone, with just the pivot point on top and I’d bite. Probably not even doable.

    The KNOG rubber band system works for lots of “light-mounting dilemmas”.

    But their stretchy silicon casing can tear;
    The hooks aren’t very robust;
    And the internals are cheapo Chinese blinkys.

    But the basic idea is great – Just needs to be made ruffer and tuffer.
